Rape trial of former DWU basketball player continues
MITCHELL, S.D. (AP) - Jurors deciding the fate of a former Dakota Wesleyan University basketball player accused of raping a female student have seen a video in which Kristopher Wilson admits to police that the woman briefly passed out while the two had sex.
The 24-year-old Wilson pleaded not guilty earlier to a charge of felony third-degree rape that carries a maximum sentence of 25 years in prison. He's on trial in Mitchell.
The 19-year-old woman who said she was raped testified earlier that Wilson had sex with her while she was passed out drunk in January 2013.
Jurors on Thursday saw a videotape of a police interview in which Wilson said the woman passed out for about one minute, but was functioning and didn't tell him to stop.
