Arrest of two men may solve several Sioux Falls armed robberies

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - Sioux Falls police say the arrests of two men in connection with a convenience store robbery should help them solve a string of recent armed holdups.

Twenty-year-old Joshua Porth and 24-year-old Jonathon Julson are charged with one count of first-degree robbery in connection with an early Friday morning robbery at a Kum & Go convenience store.

Authorities say additional charges could be filed once police complete their investigation.

The city has seen 10 armed robberies within a month and police say they have suspects in all but two of the cases.

Sioux Falls Police Chief Doug Barthel says the robberies have put residents on edge and he hopes the arrests will ease some of those fears.
