SD Legislature winding down

PIERRE, S.D. (AP) - The South Dakota Legislature is nearing the end of the main run of this year's session.

Lawmakers will spend the next three days working out differences between versions of bills passed by the House and Senate.

The Joint Appropriations Committee plans to put the finishing touches on the state budget so the Legislature can pass the spending measure by Friday, the final day in the session's main run.

Lawmakers will return to the Capitol on March 31 to consider any vetoes issued by Gov. Dennis Daugaard.
