Another challenge to Sioux Falls Wal-Mart store

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - A proposed new Wal-Mart Supercenter in Sioux Falls is facing a second legal challenge.

Sioux Falls voters on April 8 approved an ordinance clearing the way for the store. But some homeowners in the area want a judge to bar the city from issuing a building permit until after their allegations of misleading ballot wording are addressed in court.

Meanwhile, the state Supreme Court on Tuesday heard arguments in a case brought by the Save Our Neighborhood group last year. Members maintain the city improperly annexed the land set aside for the store. An attorney for the city told the court the landowner voluntarily wanted the land annexed.

Wal-Mart has said it has made several changes to make the planned store a better fit for the neighborhood.
