State Representative seriously injured when bucked from horse

RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) - A South Dakota state representative is recovering from surgery after he was bucked off a horse while roping calves with a team of other ranchers.
Rep. Dean Wink, a Howes Republican, was working with about 30 other cowboys to help out on his neighbor's ranch Thursday when the incident happened.
A fellow District 29 legislator, Rep. Gary Cammack, told The Associated Press on Saturday that it seemed Wink's surgery went well. Cammack said Wink broke his collarbone in five places, so Friday's surgery took longer than expected.
The Rapid City Journal reported that Wink also suffered some broken ribs and a partially collapsed lung.
Cammack said it will be awhile before the 69-year-old Wink is back to full strength.
