Brookings police say they arrested two men early Tuesday morning
on felony marijuana charges.

Lt. Derrick Powers says the arrests came as part of a joint investigation
with the South Dakota DCI.

The first bust came at about 1:30 Tuesday morning. A 24-year-old
Brookings man was arrested after a traffic stop and charged with
possession of about three-quarters of a pound of pot. He was taken to
the Brookings County jail.

Powers says a 22-year-old Pipestone, Minnesota man was arrested at
about 3:10 Tuesday morning, also after a traffic stop.  He was allegedly
in possession of one pound of marijuana and was also taken to jail.

Both men are charged with felony possession of marijuana with intent
to distribute.

Powers says the investigation continues.
