SDSU BASEBALL…The SDSU baseball program has added all-region junior college players Sam Krick and Eldon Evans, who will join the Jackrabbits this fall.
The left-handed hitting Krick put up impressive numbers at the plate for the Anoka Ramsey Community College squad during the recently completed 2014 season, posting a .463 batting average (38-for-82) with 30 runs batted in and 26 runs scored. Half of his hits went for extra bases as he led the team with 10 doubles, four triples and five home runs for an .866 slugging percentage. He went on to earn all-Minnesota Collegiate Athletic Conference and all-Region XIII honors as an outfielder.
Evans also was an all-Region XII selection as a pitcher for Century College in White Bear Lake, Minnesota. The right-hander compiled a 5-2 record with a 1.75 earned run average in nine appearances during the 2014 season, striking out 33 batters in 46.1 innings.

MACHBITZ HONORED…SDSU baseball player Aaron Machbitz was named to the 2014 Division I College Baseball All-America First Team by the Jewish Sports Review.
Machbitz was selected as a first baseman to the 14-player first team. Machbitz paced the Jackrabbits in nearly every major offensive category during his senior season in 2014, leading the squad in all three triple crown categories with a .318 batting average, seven home runs and 34 runs batted in. A first-team all-Summit League selection, he also led the team with 69 hits, 13 doubles and a .475 slugging percentage, while adding a .992 fielding percentage as he saw action in all 57 games.
A three-year starter at first base, Machbitz finished his Jackrabbit career ranked second in putouts with 1,288.

ZENNER…SDSU running back Zach Zenner was named to the The Sports Network FCS Preseason All-America First Team.
Zenner, who will enter his senior season this fall, has earned All-America recognition from The Sports Network and several other organizations each of the past two seasons. He burst onto the Football Championship Subdivision scene during the 2012 season, leading the nation in rushing with 2,044 yards and an average of 157.2 yards per game.
In 2013, Zenner became only the second player in FCS history to rush for 2,000 yards in two different seasons, tallying 2,015 yards and ranking third in the nation with an average of 143.9 yards per game. The Eagan, Minnesota, native also scored 25 touchdowns — 23 rushing and two receiving — in helping lead the Jackrabbits to back-to-back playoff appearances for the first time in program history.
Zenner already holds the Missouri Valley Football Conference career record for all-purpose yards with 5,861, and his 4,529 career rushing yards are only 218 yards away from the league career rushing mark currently held by Herb Donaldson of Western Illinois (4,746 yards from 2005-08).
