Armed Robbery in Brookings

Brookings police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred early this morning at the Zip Trip Convenience Store at 1005 6th St.

According to Lt. Derrick Powers, police received the report at about 12:20 a.m. He says two men entered the store and demanded money from the clerk. One of the suspects pulled a knife from his coat pocket and displayed it to the clerk. The two got away with an undisclosed amount of money and fled on foot towards the northeast.

Police are looking for the two men. One is described as about 6'1" with a medium build, dark brown hair, bushy eyebrows and facial stubble. He was wearing a black trench coat, black pants and stocking hat with aviator sun glasses.

The second suspect is also about 6'1", medium build with dirty blonde hair. He was wearing a black ski mask, dark blue sweatshirt and lighter blue jeans.
