Travelers heading south on I-29 this morning were asked to get off the interstate at exit 132. A semi pulling a combine and a second trailer got stuck in the construction zone just south of Brookings.
It happened just after six o'clock this morning. According to the Brookings County Sheriff's Department, the semi caused some damage to the guard rail but was able to stop before becoming wedged. However, it was unable to back out on it's own.
A wrecker pulled out the second trailer and the semi was able to back out.
The interstate reopened shortly before eight a-m.
