13 COVID-19 deaths reported Wednesday in South Dakota; active cases top 30,000

 

Thirteen COVID-19 deaths reported in South Dakota Wednesday. The statewide total is now 2573.

Active cases in Brookings County increase by 182 to 1463. There were 251 new cases reported Wednesday, raising the total to 7226. Recovered cases are at 5722. There have been 41 deaths reported in Brookings County. The County is in the “high” community spread category.

Statewide, active cases increase by 3948 to 32,761. Total cases increase by 6483 to 211,885. There are 176,551 recovered cases. Current hospitalizations increase by 44 to 392.

Wednesday’s numbers include some reported over the long holiday weekend.

Sixty-nine percent of the state’s eligible population has received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. Fifty-six percent have completed a vaccine series and 29-percent have received a booster.
