19 COVID-19 deaths reported in South Dakota Friday

Nineteen COVID-19 deaths reported in South Dakota Friday. The statewide total is now 2601.

Active cases in Brookings County increase by 40 to 1596 There were 72 new cases reported Friday, raising the total to 7425. Recovered cases are at 5788. There have been 41 deaths reported in Brookings County. The County is in the “high” community spread category.

Statewide, active cases increase by 1110 to 35,196. Total cases increase by 2183 to 216,656. There are 178,859 recovered cases. Current hospitalizations decrease by six to 397.

Sixty-nine percent of the state’s eligible population has received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. Fifty-six percent have completed a vaccine series and 29-percent have received a booster.
