Active cases of COVID-19 are increasing in South Dakota.

Three COVID-19 deaths reported in South Dakota Wednesday in the South Dakota Department of Health weekly update. The statewide total is 2915.

Active cases in Brookings County increase by ten to 28. Fifteen new cases reported since April 27th, the total is 8133. Recovered cases are at 8053. There have been 52 deaths reported in Brookings County. The County is back into the “high” community spread category.

Statewide, active cases increase by 226 to 766. Total cases increase by 373 in the last week to 238,185. There are 234,504 recovered cases. Current hospitalizations drop by 13 to 25.

Seventy-three percent of the state’s eligible population has received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. Fifty-nine percent have completed a vaccine series and 34-percent have received a booster.
