Airliner carrying 48 passengers makes emergency landing at Pierre airport

A United Airlines flight operated by SkyWest Airlines made an emergency landing at the Pierre Regional Airport Wednesday evening.
Pierre police say the plane experienced a reported engine failure. The aircraft was en-route to Denver from Fargo when the incident occurred.
Pierre authorities were notified at 6:00 pm that the aircraft would be landing in Pierre. The Pierre Airport Rescue Fire Fighters initiated their emergency operations plan and stood by as the plane landed safely at 6:15 pm and the 48 passengers were offloaded.
