Annual average wage in South Dakota grows by more than 5%

The average annual wage in South Dakota increased by 5.5% over the last year. That according to the state Labor Market Information Center.

The Department of Labor and Regulation data shows South Dakotans are making an average of just over $54,000 per year.

Department Secretary Marcia Hultman says the annual wage increase was driven by two factors, a nearly three-percent increase in statewide employment and a nearly eight-and-half percent increase in total wages and salaries.
