Authorities investigate death of toddler in Watertown

Watertown police, the Codington County Sheriff’s Office and the South Dakota D-C-I are investigating the death of a two year-old child in Watertown.

Sheriff Brad Howell says authorities were called to a home at 8 o’clock Wednesday morning on a report of an unresponsive child. When law enforcement arrived, they determined the child was deceased.

Howell says the location will be treated as a crime scene until they can determine the cause of death.
