Barn, sheep lost in fire near Aurora
More than 30 head of sheep are lost in a barn fire southeast of Aurora.
Brookings County Assistant Sheriff Scott Sebring says it was reported about 3:30 Tuesday afternoon at a farm located at 21610 478th Avenue.
Sebring says 15 ewes and 17 lambs were lost in the fire. The barn was also a complete loss. The total value of the loss is estimated at more than $30,000. The cause of the fire is unknown. The Sheriff’s Office is investigating.
The Aurora, Brookings, Bruce, Elkton, Sinai and Volga Fire Departments all responded as did the Elkton Ambulance and Brookings County Sheriff’s Office.
