Brookings building hit by a vehicle for the 2nd time this month

For the second time this month, the same building is hit by a vehicle. In fact, it hit the same area of the building.

Assistant Chief Derrick Powers says it was reported shortly before Noon Tuesday at Brookings Behavioral Health on the 200 block of 4th Street.

Powers says the area of the building that was hit was still boarded up from the earlier accident.

Powers says the SUV actually went into the building but the office area was empty because of that earlier crash.

He says the driver accidentally hit the gas instead of the brake.

No one was hurt but the building has extensive damage.
