Brookings County Sheriff’s Office investigating rural residence burglary

The Brookings County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a burglary at a rural residence south of Brookings.

Assistant Sheriff Scott Sebring says it occurred sometime between November 27th and December 4th on 219th Street near 472nd Avenue.

Deputies found that someone had entered the property, broken a window to the basement of the residence and ultimately gained access to the residence by breaking the door.

Once inside, an undisclosed amount of property was removed. Costs to repair the residence are estimated at about $200.
