Brookings driver crashes into garage and apartment building

A Brookings man crashes into a garage before driving his pickup into the living room of an apartment.
Police Sgt. Joel Perry says it was reported at about 3:30 Wednesday afternoon on the 1800 block of 8th Street.
He says when police arrived, they found the pickup had gone through sliding glass doors and was all the way in the living room of a ground floor apartment.
Perry says the 81-year-old Brookings man had first driven into a garage, pushing the back wall into a vehicle in an adjacent garage. A minivan and motorcycle were damaged.
The driver then backed out of the garage, across a parking lot and into the apartment.
No one was injured.
