Brookings Health System Receives Rural Health Clinic Grant

Brookings Health System has been awarded a grant through the Health Resources & Services Administration as part of the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021.

The grant is part of the Rural Health Clinic Vaccine Confidence Program which provides up to $50,000 per rural health clinic location. Brookings Health System will receive funds in support of Arlington Medical Center, Volga Medical Clinic and White Medical Clinic.

“The additional funding will provide opportunities to reinforce vaccine information, education and resources throughout our rural health clinics and surrounding areas,” said Director of Clinical Services Jennifer Chandler. “This initiative covers a broad range of efforts; including improving health care in rural areas by reinforcing basic messaging about prevention and treatment of COVID-19 and other infectious diseases.”

The RHCVC Program will provide over $100 million in funding nationwide to Medicare-certified Rural Health Clinics through June 30, 2022, addressing COVID-19 related health equity gaps and improving health care in rural areas.
