Brookings man facing federal charges for manufacturing child pornography

A Brookings man is facing federal charges for the manufacture and distribution of child pornography.

Brookings Police Sergeant Joel Perry says 25-year-old Keenan Chidaushe was arrested February 7 after an investigation by Brookings police and the Department of Homeland Security.

Homeland Security was involved because of the sex trafficking implications of the case.

Perry says the production of the pornography involved two victims who live in Brookings.

Chidaushe is a registered sex offender, having been convicted in 2017 on two counts of exploitation of a minor in Minnehaha County.

Chidaushe is charged with production of child pornography which includes a minimum of 15-years in federal prison with a 30-year maximum.

He’s currently in jail in Sioux Falls.
