Brookings man indicted on six counts of rape

A Brookings County Grand Jury has indicted a Brookings man on six counts of fourth degree rape.

The indictment charges 35-year-old Andrew M. Nieman of having sexual relations with a female under the age of 16 on several occasions between November of 2020 and April of 2021.

Niemann is being held at the Brookings County jail with bond set at $25,000 cash.

Rape in the fourth degree is a class three felony punishable by up to 15-years in prison and/or a $30,000 fine.
