Brookings Sheriff’s Office investing theft of wire from gravel equipment

The Brookings County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of wire from gravel mining equipment.
Large diameter wire was cut and stolen from a gravel crusher sometime between Thursday and Monday. The owner had placed the machine near the interstate to be sold.
While inspecting the area for additional damage, it was found an electrical control trailer, several conveyors and a tool trailer also had been damaged and had wire stolen from them.
Total damages are still being estimated.
