Brookings woman injured in fall from 3rd floor balcony

A Brookings woman is seriously injured in a fall from a third floor balcony.

Police Lt. Marci Gebers says it happened at about 2:25 Thursday morning on the 2400 block of 10th Street.

When police arrived, they found the woman lying in the grass. The 24-year-old was taken by ambulance to the Brookings Hospital and later transferred to Sioux Falls.

Gebers says alcohol appears to have been a factor.
