COVID-19 cases at 1956 in South Dakota, Brookings County holds at 9

The state Department of Health reports 1956 confirmed COVID-19 cases in South Dakota, an increase of 98 from yesterday.

There have been 9 fatalities from the disease in South Dakota.

There have been 12,109 negative tests and 1064 people have recovered from the virus. The “ever hospitalized” category is at 119 people.

Brookings County remains at 9 cases with all 9 recovered. The County is listed as community spread, in the minimal/moderate category. There have been 307 negative tests conducted in Brookings County.

Minnehaha County now stands at 1636 confirmed cases. A large number of those are connected to Smithfield Foods.
