Cows and calf shot near Brookings

The Brookings County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the shooting of three cows and a calf northwest of Brookings.
Assistant Sheriff Scott Sebring says it was reported Tuesday morning. He says three Charolais cows and a calf had been shot in a pasture near the intersection of 207th Street and 467th Avenue. It happened sometime between 7:00 o’clock Monday night and 9:40 Tuesday morning.
Two of the cows and the calf were killed, the third cow was wounded.
The cows are valued at $3000 each, the calf at $1000.
