Eleven COVID-19 deaths reported since Friday as cases continue to climb in South Dakota

Eleven new COVID-19 deaths reported over the weekend in South Dakota, raising the total to 248. All eleven were reported Saturday.

Active cases in Brookings County have gone down by four to 102. The overall case count is up 20 to 842. There have been 2 deaths in Brookings County and 13 hospitalizations. The County is in the “substantial” community spread category.

Statewide, active cases increase by 281 since Friday to 4268. Total positive cases increase by 896 and are now at 24,418. The number of people who have recovered is 19,902. Current hospitalizations increase by 12 to 232.
