SUMMARY:Share the Warmth - Salvation Army
DESCRIPTION:To safely play outside in a South Dakota winter\, a child needs a proper winter coat\, snow pants\, boots\, weatherproof gloves\, a hat\, and a scarf. The cost of these items can really add up\, especially when there are multiple children in a household. The goal of Share the Warmth is to help ease the burden of the cost of this necessary winter outerwear for grade-school children. However\, the event is open to all because we believe that no one should have to go without a warm coat in a cold South Dakota winter. \nWe rely on community donations of new and gently used winter outerwear items\, Red Kettle and other financial donations\, and hundreds of volunteers to make the one-day event a success. After the event\, a limited selection of items is available at The Salvation Army office or at Faith Church year-round.
