Fire reported at soybean plant in Volga

The Volga Fire Department and Brookings County Sheriff’s Office responded to a fire at the South Dakota Soybean Processors in Volga at about 9:40 Tuesday night.
Assistant Sheriff Scott Sebring says the fire started in one of the machines in the refinery and it was extinguished prior to emergency personnel arriving on scene.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this time. The damage is estimated at $1,000.
