The deadline is approaching to file for this year’s city and school election in Brookings.

Two City Council seats and one School Board seat are up for election this year.

The last day to file a petition is Friday, February 28, by 5:00 p.m.

Thus far, the only one to file for Council is Ope Niemeyer. The other seat up this year is currently held by Dan Hansen. He tells Brookings Radio he will not be seeking reelection.

The lone School Board seat up this year is held by Wes Tschetter and he has filed for reelection. He’s the only for to file.

The City and School Election is April 14th.
