Florence teen identified as person killed in Friday crash in Codington County

A young man from Florence has been identified as the person who died Friday afternoon in a single-vehicle crash south of Florence.

A car driven by 16-year-old Taryn Sumner was on a rural road when it crossed the center line, went into the ditch, and rolled.

The Highway Patrol says Sumner was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
