Four COVID-19 cases reported over the weekend in South Dakota; active cases and hospitalizations go down

Four COVID-19 deaths reported in South Dakota since Friday, the total is now 1923.

Active cases in Brookings County increase by 3 to 96. Total cases increase by 17 since Friday to 3712. There have been 37 deaths in Brookings County and there are 3,579 recovered cases. The ever hospitalized number is at 133. The County is in the “substantial” community spread category.

Statewide, active cases have dropped by 7 since Friday to 2233. Total cases increased by 348 over the weekend to 115,867. The number of people who have recovered is 111,711. Current hospitalizations drop by 9 to 59.

Some 347,275 vaccinations have been administered in the state to 217,278 people. A total of 10,687 doses have been given in Brookings County to 7427 people.
