Gov. Noem establishes commission to coordinate South Dakota’s celebration of America’s 250th birthday

Governor Kristi Noem announces the creation of the America 250th South Dakota Commission. The purpose is to prepare for the celebration of the 250th anniversary of the United States in 2026.
The Commission will plan, encourage, develop, coordinate, and promote observances and activities to be held in South Dakota.
The size of the commission has not yet been determined but it will include represetnatives of the administration, legislature, Board of Regents, Historical Society and others.
The group will complete its work and be dissolved and repealed in March of 2027.
