Homemade bombs, illegal firearms seized at Florence, SD residence

Two Florence, South Dakota residents are in custody after local and federal authorities discovered homemade bombs. Law enforcement had executed a search warrant Thursday morning for illegal firearms at the home.

When the explosive devices and evidence of possible explosives manufacturing was uncovered, the Codington County Sheriff’s Office called in the FBI, the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, and the South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation.

Some homes in the area were temporarily evacuated as a precaution and the explosive devices were disposed of by federal authorities.

During the search, deputies located several illegal firearms and drugs.

Arrested were 39 year-old Christopher Gamble and 28 year-old Katelyn Gamble.

They face multiple charges related to explosives, guns, drugs, and the abuse or neglect of a child.
