Incumbent Patty Bacon files for reelection to the Brookings City Council

There are now four candidates for two Brookings City Council seats. Incumbent council member Patty Bacon filed her petitions Monday, joining Isaiah Crevier, Nick Schmeichel and Nate Holden.

The second seat is currently held by Nick Wendell.

Former Brookings Police Chief Jeff Miller has filed to run for Mayor. Current Council Member Ope Niemeyer filed earlier. Current Mayor Keith Corbett is not seeking reelection.

For Brookings School Board, three people have filed so far for the two available seats. Incumbent Debra DeBates has filed as have Keli Books and Jade Withers.

The second seat is currently held by Roger DeGroot.

Nominating petitions for the City and School Election must be filed by Friday, February 26 at 5:00 pm.
