Jason Bowes files for Brookings School Board, Jeremiah Nelson for City Council

There are now five candidates for two available Brookings School Board seats. Jason Bowes is the latest to file. He joins Teresa Binkley, Jessica Gehring, Teri Johnson and Kayla Lounsbury. The seats are currently held by Melissa Heermann and Van Fishback. Heermann is running for the state House.

There are now three City Council races. The latest to file is Jeremiah Nelson who is seeking the single, two-year term. He’ll face incumbent Wayne Avery.

There will be an election for the two, three-year seats. Incumbents Leah Brink and Holly Tilton-Byrne have filed as has challenger Bonny Specker.

Also, two people have filed for the single, one-year term. They are Brianna Doran and Andrew Rasmussen.

Friday at 5:00 pm is the deadline for candidates to file. The election is April 12th
