South Dakota’s Statehouse was buzzing with activity Monday on the eve of the new legislative session.
Many lawmakers were getting their offices ready before Tuesday’s opening. They’re anticipating a session filled with work as they examine a tight budget, revise “riot boosting” laws and attempt to expand mental health resources to rural areas.
Tuesday’s calendar is highlighted by Gov. Kristi Noem’s State of the State speech at midday. She has said she’ll outline her plans to help grow the state economy.
