Man killed in motorcycle crash near Montrose

A 55-year-old man died Saturday afternoon in a single-vehicle crash six miles north of Montrose.
The name of the person involved has not been released pending notification of family.
The South Dakota Highway patrol says the driver of a motorcycle stopped at a stop sign at an intersection,then accelerated quickly away and lost control going into a curve. The motorcycle went into the west ditch and rolled several times, throwing the driver. He was not wearing a helmet and died from injuries sustained in the crash.
