Michigan man killed in motorcycle crash near Custer

An Oxford, Michigan man has been identified as the person who died in the hospital after a motorcycle crash July 31st, 14-miles southeast of Custer.
The driver, 65-year-old Anthony Verpooten, was traveling on Wildlife Loop Road. He failed to negotiate a right-hand turn and was thrown from the bike.
Verpooten was taken by helicopter to a Rapid City hospital where he passed away from his injuries Thursday night.
The driver was not wearing a helmet.
