A Marshall, Minnesota woman is injured when her SUV goes through the ice on Lake Hendricks.

Assistant Brookings County Sheriff Scott Sebring says it happened shortly before 1:00 o’clock Sunday morning.

He says 19-year-old Kylie Roberts became disoriented, driving in an area she was unfamiliar with. Roberts drove onto the lake from Sunset Point and made it about 100 yards before falling through the ice. The driver was able to escape the vehicle and go to a nearby residence where they called for help.

Roberts was taken by ambulance to the Hendricks Hospital for unknown injuries. Sebring says alcohol is believed to have been a factor. Charges are pending.

The vehicle is likely a total loss. It was recovered from the lake Sunday.
