Nick Wendell files for reelection to the Brookings City Council

There are now five candidates for two Brookings City Council seats. Incumbent council member Nick Wendell filed his petitions Tuesday. Incumbent Patty Bacon has also filed as have Isaiah Crevier, Nick Schmeichel and Nate Holden.

Current Council Member Ope Niemeyer and Former Brookings Police Chief Jeff Miller have both filed to run for Mayor. Current Mayor Keith Corbett is not seeking reelection.

For Brookings School Board, three people have filed so far for the two available seats. Incumbent Debra DeBates has filed as have Keli Books and Jade Withers.

The second seat is currently held by Roger DeGroot.

Nominating petitions for the April 13th City and School Election must be filed by Friday, February 26 at 5:00 pm.
