No COVID-19 deaths reported Sunday in South Dakota; Brookings County now in “minimal” spread category

No COVID-19 deaths reported in South Dakota Sunday. The total remains 2026.

Active cases in Brookings County hold at six. There are no new cases, the total remains 4234 and recovered cases hold steady at 4191. There have been 37 deaths in Brookings County. The County has now been moved to the “minimal” community spread category.

Statewide, active cases decrease by 6 to 215. Total cases increase by 17 to 124,356. There are 122,115 recovered cases. Current hospitalizations decrease by 8 to 26.

Fifty-six percent of the state has received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. Some 672,137 vaccinations have been administered in the state to 359,869 people. A total of 27,239 doses have been given in Brookings County to 14,729 people.
