One business fails Brookings Co. alcohol compliance check
The Brookings County Sheriff’s Office conducted an alcohol compliance check Wednesday and one of the 12 businesses checked failed and sold to to the 19-year-old buyer.
Assistant Sheriff Scott Sebring says the business that failed was Los Tapatios, in Volga.
In these cases, the server is usually cited for furnishing alcohol to a minor and the business faces possible fines and sanctions from the South Dakota Department of Revenue.
During the last county compliance check in August of 2022, four out of eleven businesses checked sold an alcoholic beverage to the underage buyer.
