One killed, two injured in house explosion near Humboldt

HUMBOLDT, S.D. (AP) — One man was killed and two other people were seriously hurt in a house explosion Wednesday morning near Humboldt.
The Minnehaha County Sheriff’s Office says a bystander spotted the house engulfed in flames, reported it around 7 a.m. and helped the victims. Several volunteer fire crews rushed to the scene, which is located just a few miles south Humboldt. The home was leveled.
The state fire marshal is working with investigators from the sheriff’s office to determine the cause.
The name of the man who was killed in the blast wasn’t immediately released nor were any details on the man and woman who survived.
