One new COVID-19 death reported in South Dakota Friday; statewide active cases climbing
The South Dakota Department of Health announced Thursday it is returning to daily COVID-19 updates.
In Friday’s report, one new death was reported and the total is now 2052.
Active cases in Brookings County decrease by four and are now at 59. One new case reported Friday, bringing the total to 4327. Recovered cases are at 4231. There have been 37 deaths in Brookings County. The County is once again in the “substantial” community spread category
Statewide, active cases increase by 60 to 1270. Total cases are up by 139 to 126,746. There are 123,424 recovered cases. Current hospitalizations remain at 76.
Sixty-percent of the state’s eligible population has received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.
