One man died Sunday afternoon in a three-vehicle crash east of Edgemont.

Names of the six people involved are not yet being released pending notification of family.

According to the South Dakota Highway Patrol, a pickup was eastbound on U.S. Highway 18 when it slowed to make a left-hand turn onto Red Canyon Road. The pickup was rear-ended by a second pickup. The collision sent the first truck into the westbound lane where it was struck by third pickup. The first pickup tipped over and the 57-year-old male driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

A total of four people in the other two pickups were injured. None of the injuries are believed to be life threatening. One person involved was not hurt.
