One person killed in Davison County crash involving highway maintainer

One person died Wednesday morning in a two-vehicle crash in Davison County.
Names have not yet been released.
The South Dakota Highway patrol says a Caterpillar highway maintainer was driving north on a road south of Mt. Vernon. The driver began drifting into the ditch and overcorrected, crossing the center line into the path of an oncoming car The vehicles collided in the southbound lane of the roadway.
The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a seat belt.
The driver of the Caterpillar was not injured.
