Two Brookings City Council seats and one Brookings School Board seat are up for election this year.

Nominating petitions and candidate packets will be available starting one week from today, January 31, at the City Clerk’s Office at the Government Center for council candidates. School Board candidates can pick them up at the School District business office.

The last day to file a petition is Friday, February 28, by 5:00 p.m.

The City and School Election is April 14th.

The two, 3-year Council Member positions up this year are currently held by Dan Hansen and Ope Niemeyer. Hansen tells Brookings Radio he will not be seeking reelection. Niemeyer says he has not yet decided.

The lone School Board seat up this year is held by Wes Tschetter.
