Police investigate report of shots fired in Brookings

Brookings police are investigating a report of shots fired early Sunday morning.

Assistant Chief of Police Derrick Powers says it was reported about 1:30 a.m. on the 1000 block of Southland Lane.

Police responded and did not find anything suspicious. The next day, they located several shell casings in a parking lot in that area.

There have not been any reports of damage.

At this point, police have no suspects.
