Pres. Biden approves Disaster Declarations for Oglala and Rosebud tribes

President Biden has approved Major Disaster Declarations for winter storms impacting the Rosebud and Oglala Sioux Tribes in South Dakota.
FEMA announced that federal disaster assistance has been made available to the tribes to supplement recovery efforts in areas hit by the severe winter storms December 12-25.
Federal funding is available and certain private nonprofits on a cost-sharing basis for emergency protective measures. It includes direct federal assistance for emergency work and the repair or replacement of disaster-damaged facilities.
Both tribes are also eligible for assistance under the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program.
